Job description

Overview

Make your mark on Park City.

Outbound Park City is looking for an exceptional Catering Sales Manager to join our team for our highly anticipated early 2027 Grand Opening. We're building more than a hotel-we're creating a hub for the modern adventurer. If you have a gift for forging authentic relationships and want to be a primary architect of our catering and event success in this iconic mountain town, pull up a chair. Your journey starts here.

As Catering Sales Manager, you will be the connective thread between our clients' most important moments and the Outbound Park City team that brings them to life. This role is responsible for driving catering and event revenue by proactively identifying, soliciting, and securing both high-volume Corporate and large-scale Social events. Leveraging our stunning 5,100 square foot ballroom and unique surrounding event spaces, you will sell, plan, and champion exceptional, larger-capacity experiences-managing the process seamlessly from initial inquiry and site tour to flawless execution to position our property as the premier destination for mountain gatherings.

Perk of the Journey:

  • Competitive base salary with a lucrative, uncapped sales commission plan
  • Team member free room night program for stays within the CoralTree portfolio
  • Group medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits
  • Participation in a pre-tax flexible benefit plan for healthcare and dependent care reimbursement
  • An employee assistance program (EAP)
  • Paid time off / sick time
  • Participation in a 401(k) plan with a company match
Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Generation: Drive catering and event revenue by building strategic relationships, uncovering fresh opportunities, and actively booking both large-scale Corporate and high-end Social events
  • Relationship Architect: Cultivate genuine partnerships with corporate clients, destination wedding planners, community associations, and social event curators-creating lasting pipelines and repeat clientele.
  • Immersive Presentations: Bring massive possibilities to life through compelling venue site tours, creative space layout mapping, and polished presentations that inspire clients
  • Negotiation & Conversion: Confidently negotiate, close, and convert high-volume business that aligns with property revenue goals while maximizing profit margin and your own uncapped earning potential.
  • End-to-End Client Journey: Guide planners smoothly through every stage of the event lifecycle-from initial contract negotiation through customized menu curation, programmatic coordination, and final wrap-up.
  • Operational Collaboration: Produce precise banquet event orders (BEOs), polished contracts, complex floor plans, and accurate billing profiles. Partner intimately with culinary, operations, and hotel leadership to orchestrate seamless, high-impact executions.
  • Event Day Presence: Be a visible, engaged, and grounding face that major corporate and social clients trust implicitly on event days to deliver an exceptional experience.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of lifestyle market trends, food and beverage innovations, and luxury destination competition to continually position Outbound Park City as the premier mountain destination for large events.
Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

  • Sales Expertise: 2+ years of professional hotel catering sales, convention services, or high-volume event sales experience preferred.
  • Proven Track Record: A demonstrated capability to proactively generate business, secure large corporate groups or upscale social bookings, negotiate complex contracts, and consistently beat revenue goals.
  • Educational Background: A college degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent level of proven industry career experience.
  • Technological Proficiency: Proficient in computer applications, with a preferred working knowledge of CRM systems and hotel sales software (Delphi preferred).
  • Lifestyle Market Insight: Experience selling large-capacity ballroom spaces within full-service properties, premium resorts, or major mountain-destination environments is a meaningful plus.
  • Dynamic Attributes: Exceptional organizational focus, a razor-sharp eye for heavy operational detail, and a creative, results-driven mindset passionate about managing grand-scale hospitality moments.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Communication & Perception: Regularly required to communicate verbally, hear, and visually perceive information.
  • Prolonged Sitting / Standing: Ability to sit, stand, or move for prolonged periods to conduct site inspections or manage event-day environments during an 8-hour shift.
  • Lifting & Movement: Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 25 lbs.
  • Visual Acuity: Possess various visual abilities, including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
  • Technological Use: Proficiency in using a computer, keyboarding, and answering phones.
  • Work Environment: Work is performed in an indoor office setting and a dynamic, high-energy event environment.
  • Schedule: Ability to shift schedule dynamically to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on client booking peaks and event executions.
  • Travel: Requires a flexible schedule for minimal local/regional travel to represent Outbound Park City at local networking events, trade shows, or client meetings.
