Tour catering refers to the specialized service of providing food and beverages to artists, crew, and staff during music or entertainment tours. It involves preparing, transporting, and serving meals at various venues, often with changing locations and tight schedules. Tour caterers must accommodate dietary restrictions, ensure food safety, and deliver consistent quality despite logistical challenges. This service is essential for keeping touring teams energized and satisfied throughout the demanding tour schedule.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a tour catering professional?

To thrive in Tour Catering, you need strong culinary skills, experience in large-scale food preparation, and an understanding of food safety regulations, often supported by certifications in food handling or hospitality management. Familiarity with mobile kitchen equipment, inventory management systems, and logistics planning tools is essential. Exceptional organizational skills, flexibility, and effective communication are vital soft skills for adapting to the fast-paced and ever-changing demands of touring. For over 30 years, Behind the Scenes Catering & Eventsย has delivered high-impact culinary experiences for corporate clients, private events, major sporting events, concert tours, and global productions. From the PGA Tourย to backstage artist catering and Fortune 500 events, we operate at a level where precision, creativity, and adaptability matter.

What truly sets us apart? Flexibility.
In our world, plans change-often. Our team thrives on it. We pivot, problem-solve, and deliver exceptional experiences no matter what comes our way.

If you're someone who moves fast, thinks creatively, and loves the energy of live events and client relationships-you'll fit right in.

The Opportunity

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate and private clients
  • Create customized proposals, menus, and event concepts
  • Lead site visits and client meetings with confidence

Event Execution (Where It All Comes Together)

  • Attend key events and serve as the bridge between client and operations
  • Ensure seamless handoff from sales to event team
  • Problem-solve in real time to deliver exceptional guest experiences

High-Profile & Special Projects

  • Support large-scale events (think: major sporting events, large productions, national activations)
  • Collaborate across departments on complex, high-visibility projects
  • Opportunity for bonus compensation tied to project performance

Operations & Admin

  • Manage client data, proposals, and event details in catering software
  • Prepare detailed event documentation for operations teams
  • Participate in weekly production meetings
  • Support team initiatives, training, and process improvements

What You Bring

  • Strong communication skills (written + verbal)
  • Proven ability to close business and manage client relationships
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple events at once
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Self-starter mentality-you take ownership and run with it
  • Ability to think both creatively and operationally

What we offer:

  • Full-time roll with health and dental plans offered
  • 401K with 4% match after first year of employment

Scheduling:

  • In office position 5 days a week
  • Office hours are 9:00am-5:30pm
  • Weekend availability and flexibility to work around event schedules
