What is Topline Marketing?

Topline Marketing refers to strategies and activities focused on increasing a company's gross sales or revenues, often called the 'top line' of the income statement. This type of marketing emphasizes growing customer acquisition, expanding market reach, and boosting overall sales volume rather than just cutting costs or improving profit margins. Tactics can include advertising campaigns, product launches, promotions, and entering new markets. The main goal is to drive significant revenue growth for the business.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Topline Marketing manager?

To excel as a Topline Marketing Manager, you need a solid background in marketing strategy, data analysis, and revenue management, usually supported by a degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Familiarity with CRM platforms, marketing automation tools, and analytics software such as Google Analytics or Salesforce is typically required. Strong communication, leadership, and creative problem-solving skills help you drive campaigns and collaborate across departments. These competencies are essential to maximize revenue growth, align marketing efforts with business goals, and maintain a competitive edge.

How does a Topline Marketing professional typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth?

Topline Marketing professionals regularly collaborate with sales, product development, and finance teams to align marketing strategies with overall business objectives. They participate in joint meetings to share market insights, set revenue targets, and develop campaigns that support product launches or promotions. Close coordination ensures that messaging is consistent, budget allocations are optimized, and performance metrics are tracked effectively. This cross-functional teamwork is essential for driving business growth and adapting to changing market conditions.

Job description

Amazon Devices-the team behind Echo, Kindle, Fire TV, Ring, Blink, eero, and more-is seeking a Sr. Manager of Product Management and Growth Marketing to own the vision for how we accelerate profitable demand and grow customer lifetime value across the way customers discover and buy Devices online.
You will own a strategic roadmap and vision for growing Devices sales through the online customer journey. You drive clarity and create the frameworks and mechanisms that enable the organization to act

You lead a team of PMs accountable for topline business outcomes: accelerating demand, improving conversion from discovery through purchase, and growing customer lifetime value across the portfolio. Marketing strategy, segmentation, targeting, and experimentation are levers your team applies in service of those outcomes, not ends in themselves.
You hold the tension between business outcomes and customer experience honestly, keeping customer experience as the primary lens when they conflict. You develop recognized expertise in the Devices customer, engaging directly with senior decision-makers to uncover what customers need, not just what they ask for

You apply one-way and two-way door judgment to high-stakes decisions with long-term implications for how we grow the business, and you make sophisticated judgment calls when data is incomplete. You will also help build and scale AI-powered solutions that reshape how we generate demand, personalize the experience, and measure incremental impact.
This role combines strategic ownership of business outcomes with hands-on leadership of a high-performing PM team in one of Amazon's most visible product organizations. Your work has considerable impact on long-term strategy, the P&L, and organization priorities, and you deliver it working across multiple teams and organizations.
What We're Looking For:
A product leader whose strategic judgment is sought out, earned through deep customer knowledge, pattern recognition, and a track record of being right about what matters

You reason from first principles, develop clear tenets to work through hard tradeoffs, and identify bold bets that balance substantial customer value with calculated business risk. You consistently find the highest-leverage metrics in complex data and the leading indicators that predict sales and adoption before they show up in lagging metrics. You set ambitious goals, understanding that 70% of a bold vision often creates more value than 100% of an incremental improvement.

You influence without authority across engineering, science, design, finance, marketing, and sales, and you actively recruit and develop PM talent. Experience owning sales or demand-driving business outcomes, product management, data-driven decision-making, and team leadership is essential.
The position is based in Seattle, covering the North America region.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will:
-Own a roadmap and vision for accelerating Devices demand and growing customer lifetime value across the online customer journey
-Drive clarity and create the frameworks that enable organizational action where opportunity and strategy are not yet defined
-Own and deliver topline business outcomes, holding the tension between business results and customer value
-Design sophisticated experimentation strategies that answer complex questions about demand, conversion, and lifetime value, and establish measurement frameworks adopted across teams
-Build and scale AI-powered solutions that reshape how we generate, target, and measure demand
-Apply one-way and two-way door judgment to high-stakes growth decisions
-Influence the roadmap priorities of product line leaders, central teams, and technology partners without authority
-Establish mechanisms and reporting that connect leading indicators to sales and CLV outcomes and give leadership clear visibility
-Recruit and develop PM talent and raise the bar on the product community
