Marketing and Communications Development VISTAย 
For one year, get paid to build sustainable solutions in a community, gain valuable hands on experience and prepare for your future. This full-time AmeriCorps service position offers a great opportunity to make an impact in the lives of others while building your own knowledge and skillset. ย 
AmeriCorps VISTA members are Volunteers in Service to America who perform indirect service to build capacity and sustainable solutions.
What will you do?ย 
The marketing and communications VISTA member will create, document, and implement a plan for creative, engaging, and timely communication to stakeholders including donors, volunteers, Habitat ReStore customers, Habitat for Humanity homeowners and the public to increase commitment to Habitat's mission. Each plan will be well documented and evaluated to ensure sustainability beyond the year of service.
Research, develop and document a marketing and communications plan, including social media, e-mail, print materials, fundraising support, website management, local radio, and television.
Research, develop and implement systems to accurately track and record marketing and communications plan-related data, ensuring sustainability
This position will focus on brand management (communications, media, marketing) aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

Activities and attractions: Habitat for Humanity of Seminole-Apopka is in Central Florida and is within 30 miles to major attractions and area beaches. Serve, learn, lead and explore in beautiful Central Florida. Our AmeriCorps members play an integral role in providing leadership and resources and engaging volunteers to become champions for our mission and creating tools and systems to build capacity. Our members are the ambassadors of Habitat Seminole-Apopka, interacting with over 500 volunteers, future homebuyers, and community stakeholders. During a year of service with Habitat Seminole- Apopka AmeriCorps members gain insight to the inner workings of a non-profit organization and gain hands on experience in leadership, public speaking, and community development.
Unique projects: Our communications for potential donors and volunteers. By amplifying our voice and presence it helps with the above. Our marketing department is the backbone of our affiliate.
When will you serve?ย 
Start dates are flexible and based on this location's availability. Talk to the hiring manager for this position about start dates during your interview process. The start date will be 4-6 weeks from receiving an offer.

Annual living allowance range from $24,962 to $40,869 determined by the service location; most locations are on the lower end of this range.ย

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must hold one of the following citizenship statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident Aliens or is a person residing in a state that have the following legal residency classifications: refugee, asylum or asylee, temporary protected status, or deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) status. Applicants must be at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
