Pay Range: $21.63 - $26.44 p/hr. ($45,000 - $55,000 annualized) plus full benefit package
Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday; 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Having built and renovated more than 1,600 homes, Pensacola Habitat seeks new and innovative ways to positively impact the community through various meaningful projects, including our Home Buyer and Community Development programs. Pensacola Habitat for Humanity offers unique financing opportunities to qualified applicants to provide affordable homeownership in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. We are also the ONLY Habitat for Humanity affiliate who is also a NeighborWorks Charter Member. GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Framing Carpenter shall ensure that daily construction activities are performed to PHFH standards in accordance with Pensacola Habitat's house plans, specifications, and quality requirements. In addition, the Framing Carpenter is expected to continually ensure a safe construction environment in accordance with HFHI Competent Person Safety Training. At the end of each workday, the Framing Carpenter will update all required project information within the BUILDERTREND software application. The Framing Carpenter makes independent site decisions and works closely with Construction Crew
Leaders, the Lead Carpenter, and the Director of Construction.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Commits to Pensacola Habitat for Humanity's mission of building homes, communities, and hope.
  • In accordance with PHFH, conducts and/or assists a daily on-site Construction Safety Meeting for the volunteers and home buyers prior to the commencement of any work activities.
  • Completes workers' compensation accident forms and notifies HR Manager immediately, if applicable
  • Identifies and recommends potential advantageous building practices and material cost savings.
  • Pays attention to construction site detail and overall quality control.
  • At the end of each workday, ensures the construction site is clean, swept, and all tools put away.
  • At the end of each workday, make sure all tools are in safe and good working condition.
  • Sends damaged tools for repair, daily, if applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge in standard framing practices.
  • Skilled in the use of standard construction tools.
  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting building plans and specifications.
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and manage the work site is a requirement.
  • Ability to motivate, communicate, and team build is a requirement.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of leading a team.
  • Minimum experience of 2 years with framing, 4 years preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is primarily performed in an office setting and may require sitting for long periods of time. On occasion, this employee may work offsite and perform other tasks that may require repetitive lifting of up to 25lbs.
This position requires a valid state driver's license, safe driving record, reliable transportation, and insurability through our vehicle insurance carrier.
