Job description

SHOP MANAGER / ASSISTANT MANAGER

Compensation: Annual $75k |Medical Benefits | 10 Days PTO | Real Growth Path

Something exciting is coming to San Francisco. A fresh, fun, fast concept led by a top-level omakase chef with serious SF pedigree. We’re building something from the ground up — a vibing, high-energy quick service spot with a strong creative vision, a killer aesthetic, and food that people in this city have genuinely never seen before. We open in September and we need our secret weapon.

We’re looking for a full time Shop Manager / Assistant Manager who brings the energy, runs the floor like they own it, and is ready to grow with us as we scale across the city and beyond.

The Role
  • Lead daily FOH operations and be the face of the business during service
  • Own the lunch and evening rush — confidently running a busy floor solo
  • Jump into BOH when needed — no ego, just hustle
  • Set up, manage and troubleshoot Toast POS — this is a hard requirement, you must know Toast inside out (or similar system)
  • Manage opening and closing procedures
  • Oversee cashier team scheduling and performance
  • Maintain inventory, delivery intake and stock management
  • Uphold health and safety standards at all times
  • Be the direct point of contact for staff, guests and management when the owner is offsite
  • Help build the systems and processes that will underpin our growth from one location to many
  • Bring genuine warmth and high energy to every single shift — this is a vibing spot and you set the tone
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 2 years leadership experience in fast casual or quick service — you’ve run a busy service solo and loved it
  • Toast POS (or similar system) experience is non-negotiable — you can set it up, manage it and fix it
  • Comfortable in both FOH and BOH — you’re not precious and you’ll do what it takes
  • Systems and process oriented — you build structure, you don’t wait for it
  • Genuinely warm, friendly and high energy — you make customers feel welcome and staff feel supported
  • Hungry to grow — this role has a clear path to Director of Operations as we expand
  • Passionate about being part of something being built from scratch, not just maintaining someone else’s vision
  • Previous experience managing employees, inventory, delivery intake, and food preparation with impeccable time management
  • Food Manager Certification required or willingness to obtain immediately
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
What’s In It For You
  • $75,000 Annual salary
  • Medical benefits
  • 10 days paid time off
  • A genuine path to Director of Operations as we scale across SF and beyond
  • Ground floor opportunity with a concept that has the backing, the team and the vision to go the distance
  • A workspace you’ll be genuinely proud of — you’ll understand when you walk in

Hours: 5 days per week, approximately 10am–8pm. Evening and weekend availability required. The typical workweek will be five consecutive shifts. This is a full time, salaried, exempt position.

When you apply, please include a short note telling us a little bit about yourself and why you want to lead our shop team!

We can’t wait to hear from you.
