Job description
Our Plantation-based office is seeking a knowledgeable and driven Title Manager to lead our Title Department within a high-volume foreclosure and real estate law practice. In this leadership role, you'll oversee a team responsible for title review, curative work, document preparation, and recording processes across multiple states. We're looking for someone with deep expertise in title examination, lien resolution, and document management-someone who thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-focused environment and is ready to elevate team performance, accuracy, and client satisfaction.
What You'll Do
- Departmental Leadership: Oversee the everyday functions of the Title Division, ensuring superior precision, rapid turnaround timelines, and complete alignment with client, investor, underwriter, and regulatory criteria.
- Team Development: Direct, coach, and support the career advancement of our Title Examiners and administrative assistance staff.
- Title Assessment: Evaluate title reports and commitments to detect and clear obstacles regarding ownership, liens, encumbrances, easements, judgments, and chain-of-title discrepancies.
- Curative Management: Supervise tactical title remediation efforts, including securing lien releases, satisfactions, corrective deeds, and overseeing formal title claims.
- Government Portfolio Packages: Ensure the exact preparation and delivery of FHA and VA title submissions alongside all foreclosure-related title outputs.
- Instrument Workflow Control: Guide the complete workflow for Assignments of Mortgage (AOMs), Lis Pendens, Title Order Instruments, and corresponding real estate filings.
- Performance Metric Oversight: Track departmental KPIs, balance task assignments, and mandate strict adherence to client SLAs.
- Compliance & SOPs: Maintain current departmental workflows, operational guides, and a perpetual state of audit preparedness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with firm counsel, paralegals, external vendors, and title underwriters to resolve intricate title or documentation conflicts effectively.
- Client Interface: Feature as the department representative during client conference updates, operational reviews, and due-diligence assessments.
What You'll Achieve
- Operational Excellence: Secure consistent, premium execution across all title analysis and document management tasks.
- Timeline Optimization: Guarantee the swift completion of title assessments, curative solutions, and public record filings in line with client and investor projections.
- Flawless Compliance: Maintain top-tier compliance ratings and spotless internal and external audit outcomes.
- Positive Culture: Foster a departmental environment built on accountability, cohesive teamwork, and ongoing workflow refinement.
- Talent Empowerment: Cultivate the individual career success and technical capability of your team members.
What We're Looking For
- Industry Expertise: 5+ years of focused experience in title operations or default title management within a law firm, title agency, or mortgage servicing setting.
- Management Background: 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity guiding title examiners or legal support personnel.
- Technical Knowledge: Profound comprehension of title analysis, lien priority, curative strategies, and regional property recording mandates.
- Regulatory Familiarity: Clear understanding of ALTA standards, underwriter protocols, and state-specific foreclosure frameworks.
- High-Volume Capability: Demonstrated history of managing high-capacity, multi-state title portfolios.
- Software Proficiency: Practical experience with legal case management networks like Perfect Practice, ICE, Tempo, or ADR is highly beneficial.
- Core Competencies: Outstanding leadership attributes, sharp problem-solving skills, and polished communication talents.
- Quality Focus: Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a steadfast dedication to accuracy and client care.
Why Join Us
- Total Rewards: Competitive salary packaging and an all-inclusive benefits selection.
- Key Leadership Post: A prominent management position within an established, respected default services and real estate law practice.
- Collaborative Environment: A supportive workplace framework focused heavily on quality indicators and regulatory alignment.
- Professional Scope: Broad exposure to multi-state title, default fulfillment, and real estate litigation procedures.
- Forward-Thinking Firm: Align with an organization devoted to legal innovation, task automation, and ongoing structural advancement.
