Position Summary

The Tile Setter is responsible for the installation, repair, and replacement of tile surfaces in residential and commercial reconstruction projects. This position requires strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the ability to deliver high-quality finished work while maintaining excellent customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Install ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, mosaic, and other tile products
  • Measure and prepare surfaces for tile installation
  • Cut and shape tile using hand and power tools
  • Apply mortar, thinset, grout, and sealants according to manufacturer specifications
  • Repair and replace damaged tile as needed
  • Install waterproofing systems and underlayment materials
  • Ensure projects meet company quality standards and customer expectations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Communicate project progress and jobsite needs with Project Managers and team members
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional tile setting experience required
  • Experience with residential reconstruction and remodeling projects preferred
  • Knowledge of tile layout, waterproofing systems, substrates, and industry best practices
  • Ability to read measurements and perform basic construction math
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Stand, kneel, crouch, bend, and climb for extended periods
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Ability to work on floors, ladders, and elevated surfaces as needed
Environmental Conditions
  • Travel to various residential and commercial job sites throughout San Diego County
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Exposure to dust, construction materials, noise, and airborne particles
  • May work in confined spaces or areas under construction
