Ticketing Intern information

What is a ticketing intern?

Ticketing Interns are entry-level professionals who assist with the sales, distribution, and management of tickets for events such as concerts, sports games, or theater performances. They typically work under the supervision of the ticketing or box office manager, helping with customer service, processing ticket orders, and handling inquiries. This role provides valuable experience in event operations, customer relations, and ticketing software, making it a great starting point for a career in the live events or entertainment industry.

What does a ticketing intern do?

As a Ticketing Intern, you can expect to be involved in a range of tasks such as assisting with the setup and management of ticketing platforms, processing ticket orders, and providing customer service support to patrons. Interns often help troubleshoot ticketing issues, prepare event reports, and collaborate with marketing and event operations teams to ensure a seamless ticketing experience. This hands-on experience provides valuable insight into event operations, customer relations, and the technical side of ticket management, making it a strong foundation for those interested in event or entertainment careers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a ticketing intern?

To thrive as a Ticketing Intern, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of event or sports management, often supported by coursework or related experience. Familiarity with ticketing software platforms like Ticketmaster or Eventbrite and proficiency in Microsoft Office are commonly required. Excellent customer service, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication help you stand out in this role. These skills are crucial for ensuring smooth ticketing operations, positive guest experiences, and efficient event management.
