About the Columbia Fireflies:
The Columbia Fireflies are a part of Hardball Capital which also owns the Chattanooga Lookouts (AA Cincinnati Reds) and the Fort Wayne TinCaps (A San Diego Padres Affiliate.) The Fireflies began play in the spring of 2016 at Segra Park, in Columbia, South Carolina. The Fireflies are the Class-A, Kansas City Royals affiliate of the Carolina League whose season begins in April and concludes at the end of August. The franchise was awarded 2024 Single A Organization of the Year.

Reports to: Director of Ticketing Operations
Position Summary:
The Ticket Sales & Service Manager is responsible for selling season ticket memberships, partial plans, and group tickets through cold calling to generate new business. This position is also responsible for developing new customer relationships and strengthening relationships with existing customers. The Ticket Sales & Service Manager will also provide ticket operations assistance to guests attending Fireflies home games and special events at Segra Park. The ideal candidate is organized, calm under pressure, has a desire to sell tickets, and experienced working in a fast-paced live event environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list.
  • Proactively generate season ticket and partial plan membership revenue through outbound sales efforts including phone calls, emails, in stadium meetings, virtual meetings, and in person presentations.
  • Dedicated outbound sales calls with the goal of making 30 or more sales calls each day.
  • Develop new sales opportunities through cold calling, utilization of Score CRM, and acquire referrals from clients.
  • Meet or exceed annual Season Ticket Membership sales goal for both renewal and new business as established by management
  • Meet or exceed annual Group Ticket sales goal for both renewal and new business as established by management
  • Provide excellent customer service to all existing and potential clients
  • Assist with all aspects of Ticket Operations and serve as a key representative of the Ticket Operations Department across the organization
  • Assist Director of Ticketing Operations in event builds, creating buyer types, adjusting price structures and other essential functions within the Tickets.com/ProVenue system
  • Assist Ticket Sales Team with digital ticket distribution for Fireflies Holiday Lights & Fireflies Baseball. Collaborate with the Ticket Sales Team to design flyers, promo codes and ticket links to support revenue generation and departmental sales goals.
  • Provide comprehensive support for Ticket Operations and Ticket Office functions during Fireflies Baseball Games, Special Events, Offseason Business Hours, and Fireflies Holiday Lights.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Ticket Office, including hiring and scheduling part-time ticket window staff and coordinating operational priorities and workflows.
  • Assist walk-up customers at the Ticket Office during regular business hours.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by professionally addressing and resolving customer inquiries, concerns, and ticketing issues.
  • Provide Tickets.com support to Ticket Sales Staff, including troubleshooting, and best-practice guidance.
  • Process ticket orders and resolve account-related issues with Tickets.com ticketing system.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Detailed-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills to assist sales team members and multiple projects all while hitting your season ticket membership and group ticket sales goals.
  • Proven success in sports ticket sales with a track record of exceeding season ticket ang group ticket sales goals.
  • Strong Leadership presence with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop others
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Experience working with the Tickets.com Ticketing System is required.
  • Proficiently experienced with Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional customer service acumen.

Education and Experience:
  • 2-3 years of related work experience preferred
  • Experience in mentoring others in a sales environment preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, sports management, marketing, communications, or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time during events.
  • Must be able to lift/pull 25 lbs at times
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours
