Job description

Job Title Assistant Director of Gamecock Club Operations

Department Operations

Reports To Chief Operations Officer

Position Overview:Support the internal and external operations of the Gamecock Club through donor data management, membership reporting, member services, and oversight of the Junior Gamecock Club program. Serve as the day-to-day contact for Gamecock Club Operations and Athletics Marketing, coordinating the execution of marketing and communication initiatives that support membership, stewardship, events, and operational priorities. Deliver exceptional customer service, foster positive relationships with members and stakeholders, and assisting with special projects and events that advance the mission of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support Gamecock Club Operations and Athletics Marketing by coordinating and executing marketing and communication initiatives that support membership, stewardship, events, and operational priorities.
  2. Oversee the Junior Gamecock Club program, including membership, recruitment, and events in partnership with Gamecock Club and Athletics staff.
  3. Assist with the Auto Pay Plan Program by managing payment declines, coordinating internal and external communications, monitoring card expirations, providing reports to account representatives, and collaborating with the ticket office to ensure timely account resolution and a seamless customer payment experience.
  4. Maintain accurate donor records, including donations, renewals, priority points, consecutive years, beneficiaries, and other related membership information. Assist with gift processing from time to time based on organizational need.
  5. Produce Gamecock Club membership reports, revenue reports, email lists, and other operational reports as requested.
  6. Communicate with Club members regarding tickets, membership upgrades, seat and parking selections, and other account-related issues. Staff Gamecock Club and athletic events as assigned.
  7. Represent the Department of Athletics in a positive and professional manner by interacting well with donors, fans, alumni, and community members. Maintain institutional integrity through compliance with NCAA, SEC and University policies, rules, and regulations. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
  8. Provide day-to-day support to interns and student workers in the Gamecock Club.

Work Environment

  • Position is based on-site at the Gamecock Club, on University of South Carolina Campus, 1304 Heyward Street, Columbia, SC 29208.
  • Position requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, and stooping.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and assist with event setup and breakdown.
  • Requires effective verbal and written communication, including speaking, hearing, and computer use.
  • Evening, weekend, and occasional travel throughout South Carolina may be required to support Gamecock Club and Athletics events.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, sport management, communications, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of related experience preferred.
  • Prefer Experience using Marketing Cloud, Archtics, Blackbaud CRM (BBCRM), or similar CRM, ticketing, and marketing platforms.
