Ticket Sales Intern
About the Orlando Pirates
The Orlando Pirates are a professional football organization competing in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Entering our eighth season, the Orlando Pirates have established themselves as a championship-caliber organization with multiple title game appearances and an IFL Championship victory in 2021.
The Orlando Pirates compete during the spring and summer seasons and are seeking motivated Ticket Sales Interns to join our organization as we continue to grow our fan base and pursue another championship season.
Position Overview
The Ticket Sales Intern will play an important role in supporting the organization's ticket sales and revenue generation efforts. This position provides hands-on experience in professional sports sales, including outbound sales, lead generation, customer relationship management, ticket operations, and fan engagement.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, organized, personable, and interested in pursuing a career in sports business, sales, or marketing. Interns will work closely with the Director of Sales, front office staff, sponsors, and fans to help drive ticket revenue and create exceptional experiences for Orlando Pirates supporters.
This internship offers valuable exposure to the business operations of a professional sports organization while providing practical experience in sales strategy, client communication, and customer service. Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and contribute to the overall growth and success of the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily ticket sales operations, including outbound calls, emails, lead follow-up, and customer outreach.
  • Generate new ticket sales leads through prospecting, networking, and community engagement.
  • Support the sales team with group ticket sales, season ticket initiatives, and promotional campaigns.
  • Maintain and update customer records, sales pipelines, and CRM systems.
  • Help execute sales-related promotions, theme nights, and fan engagement events.
  • Support sponsorship activations, partner fulfillment, and organizational events as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with fans, season ticket members, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Assist with sales reporting, tracking goals, and other administrative tasks assigned by team leadership.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Sales and front office staff.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Must be a current college student receiving academic credit through an internship course.
  • Pursuing a degree in Sport Management, Sports Business, Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in professional sports sales, ticketing, or business operations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging with prospective customers.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the team schedule.
  • Reliable transportation to and from events and office location.
