Position Overview

The Traveling Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field operations on commercial tenant improvement (TI) and ground-up projects across multiple locations nationwide. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage fast-paced construction environments, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule.

The ideal candidate has experience in retail or high-end commercial construction, with a strong eye for detail and the ability to manage projects that demand precision, coordination, and top-tier finishes. Extensive travel is required for this position.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage daily jobsite operations for commercial TI and ground-up projects across various locations.
  • Supervise subcontractors and trades to ensure high-quality workmanship, especially on detailed or high-end finishes.
  • Review construction drawings, submittals, and schedules to ensure alignment with project scope and specifications.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, inspectors, and project teams to keep projects progressing smoothly.
  • Enforce project schedules and monitor jobsite productivity to meet aggressive timelines.
  • Conduct jobsite meetings, maintain daily reports, and ensure accurate project documentation.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and jobsite standards.
  • Manage material deliveries, site logistics, and sequencing of work.
  • Oversee inspections, final walkthroughs, and ensure timely punch list completion and project closeout.
  • Utilize construction management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project for reporting and coordination.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
  • Experience with retail, tenant improvement (TI), or high-end commercial projects preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, MEP, and finish drawings.
  • Proven experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Ability to manage projects in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationwide as required.
