Revenue Cycle Manager 
Talley Eye Institute
Evansville, Indiana
Salary: $85,000–$100,000 (commensurate with experience) 
 
Talley Eye Institute is seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Manager to help lead and strengthen the financial operations of our growing multi-specialty ophthalmology practice. This position is ideal for a collaborative leader who enjoys solving problems, developing people, improving processes, and making a measurable impact on the financial health of the organization. 
 
Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, physicians, department leaders, and an experienced revenue cycle team, the Revenue Cycle Manager will help improve operational performance, streamline workflows, and support the continued growth of the practice. We are looking for a leader who can build on the department's existing strengths while identifying opportunities for improvement and developing team members for continued success. 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for the Revenue Cycle Department.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 17 employees while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce unnecessary administrative burden, and improve both the patient and staff experience.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key revenue cycle performance indicators, including Days in Accounts Receivable, denial trends, collections, productivity, and other operational metrics.
  • Oversee insurance verification, prior authorizations, injection readiness, patient assistance programs, patient collections, financial counseling, and credentialing activities.
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison with the practice's third-party revenue cycle partner by reviewing performance, identifying trends, resolving complex issues, and ensuring established service expectations are consistently achieved.
  • Partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer, department leaders, and the revenue cycle team to identify opportunities for operational improvement and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology and reporting tools to improve efficiency and strengthen revenue cycle operations.
  • Serve as a working manager by supporting day-to-day operations while coaching staff and serving as a resource for complex operational issues.
Qualifications:
  •  Five or more years of progressively responsible revenue cycle experience within a physician practice.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of medical billing, reimbursement methodologies, payer requirements, and revenue cycle best practices.
  • Demonstrated success identifying operational challenges, implementing process improvements, and delivering measurable results.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ophthalmology experience is strongly preferred but not required for the right candidate.
