Job Summary

As an IDI disability claims analyst you will secure and analyze claim information to make disability claim decisions, including complex and high liability claims while also delivering excellent and timely customer service.

  • Investigate, secure, and analyze information pertaining to claimants' medical condition, occupational demands, work earnings, business income/expenses, insured status, and other policy provisions to accurately determine eligibility for disability benefits.

  • Evaluate the insurance application for accuracy and consistency, engaging Underwriting, Legal, and other teams as needed.

  • Work in partnership with medical, vocational, and financial resources supporting a thorough and consistent claim evaluation.

  • Make and communicate disability approval decisions and issue correct benefits.

Skills and Background You'll Need

Education: Bachelor's degree is preferred but in lieu of degree, IDI claims experience may substitute.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of disability claims processing experience with at least 2 years of IDI specific claims experience.

  • Ability to understand and interpret all claim evaluation materials such as contract language, medical records, financial records and legal correspondence.

  • Experience acting as a liaison with underwriting, reinsurance carriers, sales, private investigators, etc.

  • Recognize, understand and respond to situations involving potentially fraudulent activity and/or litigation to ensure a defensible file.

  • Effectively identify and prioritize critical objectives focusing on high impact components. Provide effective leadership.

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance.

The actual compensation for this role will be based on a combination of education and experience, knowledge and skills, position budget, internal equity, and market data.

Salary Range:

$76,250.00 - $111,500.00
