Description

The Refinery Technician will be trained to produce refined and bleached, food-grade soybean oil products from crude soybean oil that meet required product specifications through monitoring and adjusting instrumentation. SDSP maintains a family oriented, collaborative team environment where each employee's contribution and strong work ethic is valued. Primary Responsibilities

  1. Perform all duties as assigned and required to operate the refining process in a safe and efficient manner. 
  2. Complete the necessary paperwork required in the record keeping of the refining process and production.
  3. Communicate any process problems that may occur and participate in troubleshooting issues.
  4. Maintain designated sanitary schedule to SDSP standards and be in compliance with SDSP's Safe Quality Food (SQF) food safety program and polices.
  5. Continuously learn, building knowledge, skills and experience within the department while achieving KPI's (Key Performance Indicators)
  6. Perform duties outside normal responsibilities as needed to support the team and overall organizational goals.
  7. Effectively communicate and coordinate with multiple departments.
  8. Be a good steward of company resources.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess the ability to process new information and communicate with others both verbally and in writing.
  • Must actively participate as a team member to maintain a positive work environment.

Shift Availability Requirements

  • The Refinery runs 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, with 12 hour shifts from 7am - 7pm & 7pm - 7am.
  • Refinery Technicians must be available to switch from day shift to night shift every 8 days.
  • Must be available to rotate between 4 consecutive 12 hour shifts, followed by 4 days off, and return to work the opposite shift for 4 consecutive 12 hour shifts.
  • Will be scheduled one week per month for on-call coverage.
  • Must be available to work shifts that fall on weekends and holidays.
  • Night shift receives shift differential pay.  
  • Holidays worked are paid double time and a half.
