Job description

At the New London Area Food Pantry (NLAFP), an all-volunteer organization established in 1986, we need drivers, using their personal vehicles, to deliver food to families in need. Our food delivery drivers perform a very important Pantry role as they are an extension of our Pantry to those guests who are elderly, disabled or lack easy transportation to reach us. We have been providing this service for 4 years. Some of those guests are unable to easily leave their home so the food delivery driver can be a welcome moment in their day.

Estimating each driver delivering to about 7-9 families (each < 2 miles of the Pantry), it would take about 1 hour. Drivers are welcome to offer more time or to be involved in other facets of the Pantry operation.

2 shifts available (deliver every other week):

  • On Mondays, each driver delivers food to approximately 7-9 families (within < 2 miles of the Pantry), taking about 1 hour: 10:00 to 11:00 EST
  • On Thursdays, each driver delivers food to approximately 7-9 families (within < 2 miles of the Pantry), taking about 1 hour: 10:00 to 11:00 EST
