Position Purpose

The Server ensures guests are provided with an excellent dining experience, providing prompt and friendly service, and answering questions about the Distillery. Keep to the Company’s mission statement. Assist and educate guests in making food and beverage selections, procession orders, and payments on the register.

Requirements:

Essential Functions

  • Take orders and deliver food and drinks, check with, and monitor guests to ensure satisfaction, and promptly close out the guest ticket.
  • Have complete knowledge of the Old Savannah Distillery menu and be able to provide recommendations, describe specials, and answer any questions a guest may have.
  • Communicate orders clearly to the kitchen and bar staff.
  • Keep the work area clean and neat.
  • Keep management informed of low inventory levels of supplies.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently and as a team member within the scope of established rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, this includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling products or services.
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Ability to maintain composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and avoiding aggressive behavior, even in very difficult situations.

Qualifications

  • 6 months experience in a full-service restaurant and/or bar preferred.

Other Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing.
  • Have a passion for helping people and making their Savannah experience a memorable one.
  • Maintain necessary mandated food and drink certifications.
