Senior Detection and Response Engineer atย Qubeย Research & Technologies (QRT)ย will beย tasked withย improvingย andย optimizingย ourย capability to effectivelyย monitor, detect, respond, and remediate security incidents.ย 

You willย be part of aย globalย security team,ย implementingย highly automated security operationsย processes andย systemsย toย meet dynamic company growth.ย You will have an opportunity toย design andย buildย systemsย from scratch, interact with various technologies, influence architecture, decide on specific technologies or tools, and work onย cutting edgeย projects.ย 

As the security team, our top priorityย is to ensure that our data and assets are safeguarded using controls, which do not disrupt the business,ย whilst acting as anย enabler. We workย with manyย stakeholdersย at all levels across the business, including IT,ย Cloudย and Engineering.ย 

QRT runs a hybrid technology stack across multiple data centers, extending to various locations across the public cloud. The combination of on-premises andย Cloud allows us to achieve performance and low latency requirements, which are important for quantitative and systematic investments.ย ย 

Your future role within QRT

  • Monitor and analyse security events and alerts fromย diverse and disparate dataย sources to detect threatsย 
  • Coordinate incident response activities including investigation, containment, remediation,ย recoveryย and lessons learntย 
  • Deploy, tune, administerย and implement security detection and response solutions,ย tools,ย configurationย and related processesย 
  • Develop high fidelityย securityย detections across our tooling suiteย 
  • Collaborate withย cross-functional teamsย to improve detection capabilities, includingย deploying newย tools, logย ingestionย and enrichment, developingย detection use casesย and playbooksย or designing automated response mechanismsย 
  • Capable of proactively performingย threat intelligence driven huntingย ย 
  • Liaise with external vendors /ย MSSPย / third-party stakeholders asย requiredย 
  • Develop strategicย objectivesย to increase the maturity of the Detection and Response functionย 

Your present skillset

  • 5+ย years' experienceย in information security fields,ย 3+ย years' experienceย in detection and response.ย 
  • Demonstrableย experience in creatingย customized securityย detection use casesย 
  • Demonstrable experience in digital forensics analysis and incident responseย 
  • Demonstrableย experience withย building,ย troubleshootingย andย optimizingย Detection & Response technologies (e.g., SIEM, Threat Intelligence Platform, Automation)ย 
  • Understanding of different adversary tactics,ย techniquesย and proceduresย 
  • Technical understanding and knowledge of network and operating system fundamentalsย 
  • Experienceย working in hybrid environmentsย (publicย cloud/on-prem)ย utilising various operating systemsย ย 
  • Experience in CI/CD pipeline development and deployment automationย would beย advantageousย 
  • Programming/scripting language skillsย (e.g.,ย Python, Bash,ย PowerShell)ย would beย advantageousย ย 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skillsย acrossย different organisation stakeholdersย 
  • Proactive mindset, capable of driving process improvements and automation initiativesย 

Base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $220,000 per year.ย 

QRT Total Compensation includes discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
