Reporting to Regional Manager, the Club Manager will be responsible for oversight of club operations, guaranteeing a positive member experience as well as ensuring financially stability of club. This position plays a critical role in managing our team dynamic in an effort to maintain a high-energy atmosphere inside the Judgement Free Zone®.

Skills Required

  • Customer Service: Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills by interacting with customers, including coworkers and the public, in a manner that consistently exceeds expectations and addresses their needs.
  • Communication: Practices active listening by fully engaging with customers, showing empathy, understanding their perspectives, and collaborating to find effective solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies and defines issues clearly, analyzes relevant information, explores alternative solutions, and develops appropriate action plans. Seeks guidance when necessary to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Club Performance: Proven ability to manage club performance using Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive operational and financial results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Grow, develop and build a winning team by utilizing best practices in hiring, training, coaching and performance management. Utilize training tools available (e.g. – Planet Fitness University) to hold team accountable for essential learning.
  • Teach your team to provide +1 service. Observe, teach in the moment and lead by example
  • Ensure every member has a friendly greeting upon entering/exiting the gym through a clear and enthusiastic hello and goodbye.
  • Develop a plan to drive EFT through maximizing KPI’s in your club. This must include meeting assigned goals for BCM, tour percentage, employee retention, member engagement as well as regional inspection each month.
  • Be responsible for a timely, professional and solution-oriented response to member service submissions. Create raving fans!
  • Foster a culture of adaptability by encouraging open communication, collaboration, and experimentation with new ideas.
  • Be a champion of change. We are always introducing new systems and processes. Lead change-management efforts and guide teams through transitions with clarity and confidence.
  • Ensure that your club has proper open and close procedures. Ownership of the business 24/5.
  • Write an effective schedule that meets hours determined by payroll grid. Schedules are generated weekly and must include a balance of support from management and staff.
  • Be accountable for your team’s knowledge of critical information (e.g. - marketing promotions, corporate initiatives or new policy) .
  • Develop your assistant manager into a future leader. Provide on the job training to develop management skills such as delegation, accountability and performance management.
  • Perform weekly bank deposits to ensure timely deposit of club revenue.
  • Exhibit flexibility with your schedule. This leader must be willing to change schedule if coverage is needed.
  • Daily member experience walkthroughs to ensure facility is in clean and working order.
  • Conduct 1v1s with Assistant Manager to align on responsibilities and develop them as a leader.
  • Manger outlook email and calendar to make sure tasks are completed and meetings are attended in a timely manner.
  • Utilize club systems and reporting tools to monitor equipment functionality, labor, payroll accuracy, and key performance metrics; identify trends and partner with leadership to address gaps and opportunities.
  • Model ethical, professional, and compliant behavior in all interactions, maintaining confidentiality and promoting a culture of accountability and respect.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
  • Frequent walking throughout the facility.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 75 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Reaching, bending, and kneeling as needed for stocking and cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to work in a busy, noisy fitness environment.
  • Will occasionally use or be around standard cleaning products; appropriate safety procedures and protective equipment are provided.

Compensation Club Manager: $55,000 to $57,000 per year with opportunity for quarterly bonus.
