Job description

Salary: Starting at $18 - $22 per hour, based on experience

We are looking for a Whole Process Butcher who wants to participate in whole animal butchery from the start of the process on the harvest floor to breaking the carcass into primals. This is a rewarding position for someone who enjoys mastering the butcher craft and working in a stable production environment.


This position will work on our Kill Floor two days per week and then on our butchering floor three days per week.


We welcome both experienced butchers and those who want to learn. Pay will be based on experience.


DUTIES:

  • Assist in the harvesting of cattle, sheep, and pigs on our slaughter floor. Slaughter occurs on Tuesday and Thursday, and this position is part of the team engaged in the physical process of humanely and safely harvesting the animals.
  • Break carcasses into primals.
  • Fabricate retail cuts from primals.
  • Grind meats as needed.
  • End-of-day cleaning and sanitation duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift 80 lbs. at a time.
  • Must be able to work with sharp objects.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing clearly.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours a day.
  • Must be 18 or older, due to the equipment being used.
