Job Description

Summary of Position: The Brewery Assistant plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the brewery, working alongside the Lead Brewer to produce exceptional craft beer while upholding the quality, consistency, and standards that define Crooked Hammock Brewery. This position is designed for someone eager to learn every aspect of the brewing process, from production and packaging to sanitation and quality control. The Brewery Assistant helps achieve production goals, maintains a safe, organized, and positive work environment, and proudly represents the Crooked Hammock brand in everything they do. Must Enjoy the Ride!

Duties amp; Responsibilities:
  • Meet Lead Brewer’s and Director of Beer’s expectations for the brewery and brewed products;
  • Brew, store, and serve beer to company standards;
  • Follow all tank cleaning and sanitizing procedures to company standards;
  • Follow all product transfer procedures to company standards;
  • Follow all cellaring and packaging procedures to company standards;
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and healthy work environment in the brewery;
  • Prepare all required paperwork and forms in an organized and timely manner;
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the brewery’s preventative maintenance programs;
  • Ensure that all ingredients and products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the brewery’s receiving policies and procedures;
  • Follow appropriate cleaning schedules for floors, brewhouse, brewery, tanks, mill room, walk-in cooler, other brewing equipment, indoor and outdoor storage and brewing related areas;
  • Check and maintain proper beer holding and serving temperature;
  • Learn fermentation profiles and fermentation procedures;
  • Attend all coordination meetings with management to collaborate amp; review brewery operations;
  • Live the brand and be a brand ambassador; make decisions in the best interest of the brewery every day.
Qualifications:
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • At least 1 year of experience as a brewer’s assistant or intern, or two years of experience as a home-brewer
  • Interest in, or understanding of brewing science, brewery technology and brewery operations;
  • Enjoys interacting with guests and other beer enthusiasts
  • Strong planning and organizational skills. A self starting work ethic and the ability to multitask, prioritize and adapt to changing situations;
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation;
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States;
