Job description

Job Title: Yarn Technical Specialist
Location: Dalton, GA
Position Summary: As a Yarn Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of our yarn products, addressing quality issues, and collaborating with various departments within the organization. Your technical expertise and ability to drive process integration and CTQ improvements will be essential to our success.
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Liaise with all functional areas, including Manufacturing, Product Development, and Senior Leadership, to ensure effective communication and alignment on quality and process improvement initiatives.

Process Integration and Improvement:
  • Drive process integration efforts between facilities to enhance efficiency and product quality.

  • Lead and support continuous improvement activities from Extrusion to finished yarn production.

Automation Initiatives:
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of yarn-related automation initiatives to improve production processes and product quality.

Strategic Execution:
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to execute corporate strategy, especially in areas related to yarn production and quality.

Technical Resource:
  • Serve as a technical resource for the broader team, providing expertise and guidance on all yarn-related matters.

Root Cause Analysis:
  • Implement root cause analysis methodologies to identify and address the underlying causes of quality issues.

Equipment Complement:
  • Maintain an equipment catalog and provide direction on yarn focused capital projects.

  • Assess and provide directives for PM programs.

New Product Development:
  • Collaborate with Product Development teams in the creation and approval of new yarn products and equipment, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards.

  • Stay abreast of modern technologies in the field.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field

  • 5+ Years experience in Extrusion and Yarn finishing production environments

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Extrusion, Twisting/Heatset, Air Entangling, and Cabling production processes, automation, and quality improvement methodologies.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Leadership experience and the ability to work effectively in a team.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and root cause analysis techniques.
