Job description

Warping Operator

We are hiring a Warping Operator to support textile manufacturing operations by preparing the creel, operating warping equipment, and producing high-quality yarn beams. This is a hands-on manufacturing role that requires strong attention to detail, good mechanical awareness, and the ability to follow work orders and production specifications.

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, comfortable working around manufacturing equipment, and able to troubleshoot basic equipment or material issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret work orders, production instructions, and specification sheets
  • Prepare the creel and warper for setups and changeovers
  • Operate warping equipment safely and efficiently
  • Correct reeds, gauges, and patterns as needed
  • Load and doff yarn beams
  • Stage and prepare yarn for production sets
  • Perform quality checks to ensure products meet specifications
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment and material issues
  • Complete required production paperwork and enter data into computer systems
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all company safety and quality procedures
  • Work overtime, alternative schedules, different shifts, or in other departments as needed
  • Cross-train on additional manufacturing processes and equipment
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Previous entry-level warping or textile manufacturing experience preferred
  • Manufacturing or machine operating experience is a plus
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure
  • Basic math and data entry skills
  • Strong attention to detail and decision-making skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic equipment or material problems
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working with computers and entering production information
  • Ability to work independently while also being part of a team
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch as needed
  • Ability to climb ladders and use small step ladders throughout the workday
  • Ability to work at heights of approximately 34 feet when using equipment in the area
  • Ability to use a stand-up lift/man lift to load and unload the creel
  • Ability to carry packages of yarn while using a lift or ladder
  • Ability to lift yarn packages overhead
  • Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds
  • Good hand-eye coordination, vision, and manual dexterity required
