Job description

Job Summary:
Cognizant is a leading company in the healthcare domain, and they are seeking a Test Lead to drive quality assurance for complex Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) platforms. The role involves leading test strategy and execution, coordinating Agile testing activities, and ensuring high-quality releases that support patient and provider outcomes.
Responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end test strategy, planning, and execution for complex PBM applications, ensuring timely and high-quality releases
• Coordinate Agile testing activities across squads and sprints, maintaining traceability from requirements to test coverage and defect resolution using Jira and TestRail
• Define and optimize test strategies, plans, and governance frameworks, aligning with regulatory requirements and business priorities
• Oversee functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing for core PBM workflows such as eligibility, formulary, claims adjudication, and member services
• Drive API and REST interface testing to ensure reliable integration across healthcare platforms and partner systems
Qualifications:
Required:
• 10+ years of experience in software testing, including leading testing efforts for enterprise Healthcare or PBM platforms
• Strong expertise in RxClaim (AS400), EZQuery, and EZTest, with hands-on experience in healthcare ecosystems
• Proven ability to lead end-to-end QA lifecycle, including test strategy, planning, execution, and reporting
• Experience managing Agile testing delivery using tools such as Jira and TestRail
• Strong understanding of PBM workflows including eligibility, formulary, claims adjudication, and member services
• Hands-on experience with API and REST services testing
• Solid experience in test metrics, quality governance, defect management, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence quality early in the software development lifecycle
• Experience in risk management, regulatory alignment, and quality assurance controls
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
Preferred:
• Experience driving large-scale program delivery, including ownership of timelines, quality, and KPIs
• Strong exposure to test automation strategies, reusable test frameworks, and regression optimization
• Proficiency in SQL testing and advanced API validation techniques
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and leadership teams
• Experience leading QA transformation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Strong client engagement and stakeholder management skills with a focus on delivering business value
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including executive-level reporting
