Job Description We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer / SDET III to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in test planning, automation across UI, API, and backend, and CI/CD integration and a proven ability to design robust test frameworks, mentor engineers, and drive defect resolution for complex features. Responsibilities: Own test planning, execution, and automation for moderately complex systems or large features across front-end, API, and backend components. Design, build, and maintain extensible test automation framework components and libraries. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), monitor results, and address failures promptly. Monitor test runs, identify failures, log defects with diagnostics, and partner with developers for resolution and verification. Mentor junior Quality Engineers through code and test case reviews and provide constructive feedback. Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more domains such as UI automation, API testing, performance, security, or data validation. Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to clarify requirements, identify edge cases, and define acceptance criteria. Facilitate technical discussions on quality, propose improvements to test approaches, and evaluate new tools and methodologies. Drive continuous improvement of QE processes using metrics such as defect density, test coverage, and escape defects. Write and execute manual and automated test cases covering functional and non-functional requirements. Author test cases in test management tools (e.g., qTest) using Gherkin where applicable. Perform API testing with tools such as Postman and automation libraries; validate integrations with databases and downstream systems. Contribute to automation frameworks (e.g., WebdriverIO, Selenium, Cypress) with reusable, maintainable code. Execute regression, integration, system, and exploratory testing; log defects with clear reproduction steps and severity. Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide testing estimates and quality input on user stories. Support release readiness with smoke and regression suites and validate production deployments. Communicate test status, defect trends, and quality risks to the squad and stakeholders. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. 5+ years in software quality engineering with proven test strategy design for moderately complex applications. Proficiency in Java and/or JavaScript/TypeScript for authoring automated tests and framework enhancements. Hands-on with WebdriverIO, Selenium, or Cypress; capable of building reliable UI automation and troubleshooting flaky tests. Experience testing RESTful APIs using Postman, supertest, or REST Assured. Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins and addressing pipeline failures. Working knowledge of Docker and containers for test environment setup. Proficiency in SQL and database concepts for data validation, test data setup, and troubleshooting. Understanding of performance testing concepts and tools; able to execute tests and interpret results. Familiarity with security testing practices and common vulnerabilities such as the OWASP Top 10. Strong knowledge of QE methodologies and testing types including unit, integration, system, UAT, regression, performance, and exploratory. Strong debugging and analytical skills across front-end, API, and backend layers. Comfort with Git and GitHub, branching strategies, and pull request reviews. Experience in Agile environments; familiarity with SAFe is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to convey quality concerns to technical and business stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and review their work constructively. Experience authoring test cases in tools such as qTest, including Gherkin syntax. Preferred Skills: WebdriverIO with JavaScript or TypeScript. Postman and Newman for API testing and automation. Behavior-Driven Development with Gherkin and Cucumber. Accessibility testing tools such as aXe. Experience working in a SAFe environment. Exposure to cloud technologies, preferably AWS. Containerization with Docker for managing test environments.
