Job description

Medical Assistant Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and assisting with medical tests, in a timely manner, including inhouse blood work and CLIA waved testing.
  • Assist healthcare professionals in minor procedures, and other medical treatments.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
  • Sterilize medical instruments and equipment to maintain a clean and safe environment, as directed by supervisor.
  • Travel between both locations as needed.

Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and always maintain patient confidentiality.

Medical Assistant Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in a clinical or healthcare setting, preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic health records systems
  • Bilingual abilities, preferred but not required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or related certification.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in Prior AUTH’s for medications
  • Insurance referral experience
