Job description

We are seeking candidate for an Ophthalmic Technician position to become a part of our team! Experience is necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Work up patients (take a medical history, check vision, eye pressures, etc.)
  • OCT and VF testing
  • Assist patients when necessary
  • Assist the doctors with procedures and entering exam information in EMR
  • Send prescriptions electronically or manually
  • Communicate pertinent patient information to designated departments
  • Send correspondence to referring physicians
  • Supply patient education.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician, OCT and VF testing
  • Experience in performing FP/FA is a plus.
  • Ability to build rapport with patients
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Patience with the elderly and those needing additional assistance
