Job description

This position is for the Aerospace division in the Consumer Products facility. This position performs support to one or more functional areas. Duties may be assigned in accordance with the office procedures and may include but not limited to testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics. Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis. Assist in equipment and tooling design, development and installation.
Responsibilities
  • Follow all company Policies and Procedures, Quality and Environmental Management Systems (QMS & EMS), Kawasaki Production System (KPS) and any other legal and compliance regulations that may apply such as
  • Interpret engineering drawings and create shop drawings for the purpose of creating or modifying the design of production tools and fixtures for fabrication by in house or outsourced
  • Create or modify production process
  • Analyze and troubleshoot initial equipment problems. Suggest countermeasures for system failures and implement and verify solutions for quality, safety, productivity and ergonomic
  • Collect process data, make mathematical calculations and estimates to report on findings and/or make process adjustments, set up tests, meet quality and production requirements, assist in improvements and establish standard production
  • Prepare equipment layouts and drawings to meet project
  • Recommend revisions to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve
  • Prepare and install fixtures and tooling for part set up for new or existing
  • Adjust basic machine program as necessary to support engineering and

Qualifications/Education/Experience:
Two-year associate's degree in manufacturing technology or similar technical degree; or a combination of similar education and three years' experience.
OR
Current KMM employees: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) plus three or more years' experience in a position-related field at KMM.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft applications, email, AS400 and additional programs/software as necessary.
Preferred: Attention to detail, organization, perseverance, quality, communication, computer and office equipment skills. Ability to work in office setting and work with other team members.
