Job Description

Job Title: Software Development Test Engineer - Python Tester

Job location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: Long Term

This software is deployed at MSOs around the world and provides management of edge devices to transport video services to millions of subscribers.


The working environment is highly dynamic and fast paced. As a team development test engineer, one will work with a geographically distributed team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with architects and developers to design test plans / cases to verify new features in the product as well as ensuring existing functionality is not adversely impacted.
  • Debugging and trouble-shooting complex system that interact with components (software and hardware) developed by other teams or vendors.
  • Support internal and external customers for system level issues such as configuration, installation and engaging development when needed.
  • Understanding of communications protocols.
  • Execute assigned tasks in a timely & efficient manner.
  • Effectively communicate status, metrics and issues on a regular basis.

Skills & Requirements:

  • 1-5 years working with streaming video software applications, basic understanding of MPEG encoding format and streaming multiplexing a plus.
  • 1-5 years collaborating with offshore development and test teams.
  • Knowledge of Edge QAM resource management a big plus.
  • Working knowledge of RTSP, DSM-CC, VREP a big plus.
  • Experience with cable systems and IP Video delivery a plus.
  • Experience with agile practice a plus.
  • Experience with customer support a big plus.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and executing test plans / cases for applications in a system environment.
  • 5+ years of troubleshooting complex systems from multiple vendors.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a Unix/Linux environment
