Solar Service Technician


Citadel Roofing and Solar is a new company; however, the team is made up of industry veterans with more than 30 years of experience, and a stellar reputation of service excellence to new construction home builders throughout Northern California. We are looking for a Solar Service Tech to join our growing Solar Operations team.


This position is based out of our offices in Vacaville (travel to Vacaville will be required at least once per week), however, will be working on projects throughout the Sacramento and Bay Area. The role of the Solar Service Tech is to support the service department in providing excellent customer service and support in a broad range of areas.


This position is varied and almost limitless as the service department needs to be able to meet all kinds of needs.


Responsibilities:

Replace old solar equipment with new equipment. Must be familiar with Fronius, SMA, Enphase and Solar Edge inverters as well as Tesla, Franklin and Enphase batteries.

Perform detailed inspections of older systems and collect data such a serial numbers and defects to provide to third-party partners.

Set up monitoring on new systems to support operations and introduce the service department.

Be available and willing to assist operations and sales to make sure customers have a good experience.

Troubleshoot and repair issues with PV systems and batteries without supervision. On both residential and commercial systems.



Qualifications:

1 - 3 years of previous experience in solar or general construction preferred

High School diploma

Organized and self-motivated, able to learn quickly and work well in a team environment

Familiarity with PV plan sets preferred

Punctual with appointments and deadlines

Able to grasp technical concepts and communicate them in an effective manner

Strong computer skills

Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.)

Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and able to work on your feet for long periods of time

Familiar with OSHA safety rules preferred

Excellent customer service skills required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Must be able to learn quickly and work well in a team environment

Regular, reliable and predictable attendance required

Must have a valid state driver's license

Must have a clean driving record. (example, no DUI in the last 5 years)

Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen Compensation and Benefits: Citadel
