About Us:
American Home Contractors Solar Division is a fast-growing leader in solar-integrated roofing systems, including Tesla Solar Roofs and GAF Solar Shingles. We proudly serve the Northeast region from our Fulton, MD and Chantilly, VA offices, with a solar warehouse based in Columbia, MD.
Position Overview:
We are actively seeking a Solar Electrician to join our Solar Division team. Journeyman License is preferred but not required. This is a travel-based field position (approx. 35% of the year), supporting installations throughout MD, VA, DC, PA, WV, DE, and NJ. A take-home company vehicle is provided.
Important: Applicants must live within 85 miles of our Columbia, MD warehouse or be willing to relocate prior to start. We are not currently hiring electricians based outside this area.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and repair electrical systems for solar roofing projects
  • Run conduit and wiring per national and local electrical codes
  • Install circuit breakers, inverters, Powerwalls, and other solar system components
  • Perform inspections and troubleshooting of electrical systems
  • Lead and mentor solar installation apprentices and field technicians
  • Complete required manufacturer and licensing trainings
Requirements:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building regulations
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with physical demands: climbing ladders, lifting 50 lbs, working outdoors
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Journeyman Electrical License (preferred, not required)
  • Experience with Tesla Solar Roof and Battery Storage systems is a plus
  • Prior solar PV and battery backup experience
  • Experience supervising or mentoring field crews
