Job description

Job Summary:
tesa is a global leader in adhesive tape solutions, seeking an Application Solutions Engineer to support their Industrial Trade & Converting business unit. The role involves providing technical consulting, executing application-focused testing, and supporting customer trials to develop robust tape solutions for various applications.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical consulting to customers and Sales for double-sided mounting applications (e.g., foam/film/transfer tapes, high/low surface energy substrates, durability, temperature/aging, clean appearance).
• Plan and execute application-focused testing and deliver clear, customer-ready recommendations (test plans, results, benchmarking, process window).
• Support customer trials and line implementations (manual and automated): define success criteria, run trials, document outcomes, and drive next steps to conversion and scale-up.
• Lead and support converting-related solutions (die-cuts, lamination builds, slitting, liner selection, dispensing/automation concepts) in close collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Drive surface protection concepts and select/validate solutions for mechanically demanding processes and sensitive surfaces.
• Support lamination and splicing topics for industrial manufacturing and processing efficiency.
• Deliver trainings for sales/partners and contribute to application guidelines, best practices, and technical documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• BS/MS in Engineering or Science (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, Chemical) or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in application engineering / technical service / process engineering in industrial manufacturing, converting, or related adhesive/tape application roles.
• Willingness to travel up to ~20% within the USA as well as 2-3 x per year to Mexico.
• Must have a valid driver's license and passport.
• Strong hands-on and structured problem-solving skills (test planning, data interpretation, concise reporting, customer communication).
• Collaborative mindset across Sales, Product Development, Quality, and Operations.
