Provider Liaison Pharmacist

This particular position is for OptumRx for the State of Tennessee, Bureau of TennCare. Candidates must be based in Knoxville, Tennessee or surrounding area. If you are located in or around Knoxville, TN you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities: The Provider Liaison Pharmacist responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provider education programs, training, relations and service
  • Follow-up after pharmacy audit and audit assistance
  • Academic detailing of prescribers and pharmacy providers
  • TennCare PDL compliance initiatives
  • DUR and Provider Practice Activity follow up
  • Education and assistance for Providers in working with TennCare Program utilization management programs (i.e. PA requests, attestations, emergency supply)
  • Work closely with client and OptumRx Account Director and Clinical team

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
  • Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Tennessee
  • 3+ years of experience working as a licensed Pharmacist, with at least 1 year working in outpatient and/or retail pharmacy
  • Experience developing and delivering formal presentations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to travel locally up to 75% in the Knoxville, TN area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medicaid Fee For Service or Medicaid Managed Care experience
  • PBM experience
  • Pharmacy Network Experience
  • Training Experience
  • Client facing or clinical account management experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
