Job description

Warehouse Manager

Full-time Regular Torrance, CA, US

Salary Range: $95,000.00 To $110,000.00 Annually

WAREHOUSE MANAGER

Lead the people, systems, and strategy behind every order we ship.

A hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on building high-performing teams and running a tight operation.

REPORTS TO

Director of Supply Chain Operations

DEPARTMENT

Warehouse & Shipping

ABOUT THE ROLE

WPS is looking for a results-driven Warehouse Manager to lead end-to-end operations for our 38,000 sq. ft. distribution facility. This is a true management role — you'll own safety, inventory accuracy, labor planning, order fulfillment, continuous improvement, and the warehouse operating budget, while directly developing a team of approximately 14 associates including leads and supervisors.

You'll serve as the WMS super user, partner closely with Sales, Customer Service, Accounting, and Procurement, and be empowered to make real decisions — on staffing, process design, vendor selection, and operational strategy. If you love building high-performing teams and running a tight, efficient operation, this role is for you.

THREE THINGS YOU'LL OWN FROM DAY ONE 1 Team performance & culture

You’ll directly lead supervisors and leads, build accountability structures, and ensure every shift runs safely and efficiently — while coaching your team to grow.

2 Operational excellence

From receiving to shipping, you’ll drive KPI dashboards, daily operating reviews, continuous improvement cycles, and the SOPs that keep the whole facility humming.

3 Inventory & budget accuracy

You’ll own cycle counts, WMS controls, variance investigation, and the warehouse operating budget — with authority to make decisions and present results to Supply Chain leadership.

WHAT YOU'LL DO Operations & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, returns, and maintenance to ensure orders are complete, accurate, and on time.
  • Optimize warehouse layout, slotting, pick paths, capacity, and equipment uptime to improve throughput and efficiency.
  • Maintain KPI dashboards and daily operating reviews; drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement to deliver sustained gains.
  • Establish and enforce SOPs and a daily/weekly management cadence — shift huddles, operating reviews — to drive accountability across all shifts.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Accounting, and Procurement to align priorities and meet customer commitments.
Inventory & Quality
  • Own inventory accuracy through cycle counting, physical inventories, variance investigation, and corrective action.
  • Enforce WMS and material-handling controls to reduce errors, shrink, damage, and obsolete inventory.
  • Partner with Procurement and Accounting to optimize stock levels and inventory turns.
Safety & Compliance
  • Own the warehouse safety program — OSHA compliance, inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain safety SOPs, training records, emergency procedures, and equipment-inspection documentation.
Team & Labor Planning
  • Lead and develop supervisors and leads, holding them accountable for safety, accuracy, productivity, and attendance.
  • Own hiring, scheduling, and staffing plans — including overtime and temporary labor — to match demand and seasonal volume.
  • Build team capability through onboarding, cross-training, coaching, and performance management.
Budget & Systems
  • Own the warehouse operating expense budget: labor, overtime, supplies, maintenance, damage, and variance analysis.
  • Develop and manage the annual operating and capital budget; approve expenditures within delegated authority.
  • Serve as WMS super user and ERP user — analyzing data in Excel and reporting performance to Supply Chain leadership.
WHAT YOU BRING Must-Haves
  • 5+ years of warehouse or distribution operations experience, including 3+ years leading a team of 10+ through supervisors or leads.
  • End-to-end responsibility for warehouse operations — from receiving and inventory control through order fulfillment, shipping, and returns.
  • Advanced WMS experience including training users and improving system processes; ERP and Excel proficiency for planning and reporting.
  • Strong command of KPIs and the levers to pull to drive results.
  • Proven experience with labor resource allocation, shift scheduling, inventory flow management, and quality control.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills; effective across departments and with external partners.
Strong Signals
  • Deposco WMS and/or NetSuite ERP experience.
  • Formal training in Lean / continuous improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) or OSHA 30 General Industry.
  • Experience with warehouse layout design, preventive maintenance planning, or SOP development in a high-volume, seasonal distribution environment.
  • Growth mindset — intellectually curious, committed to continuous learning.
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred — or equivalent combination of education and experience.
YOU MAY THRIVE HERE IF
  • Owning the full picture — from safety and staffing to systems and budget.
  • Building a team culture where accountability and care go hand in hand.
  • Finding the root cause and fixing it for good, not just patching it.
  • Continuous improvement that actually sticks.
