Assistant/Associate/Full Professor-Equine Practice & Surgery
Job Summary
Clinical Track or Tenure Track faculty position in Large Animal Practice. The successful applicant must demonstrate creative scholarship and collaborative research activities in Large Animal Practice and develop innovative teaching and service programs.
Essential Job Duties
  • Have a commitment to the University's tri-partite mission of teaching, research, and service.
  • Participate in classroom, clinical and laboratory instruction of veterinary students, graduate students, interns, and graduate veterinarians.
  • Demonstrate creative scholarship and collaborative research activities in large animal medicine/surgery.
  • Develop innovative teaching and service programs for the department and the VTH.
  • Participate in providing client services to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) in equine surgery practice.
  • Participate in after-hours emergency duty clinical services.
  • Develop strong professional relationships with referring veterinarians and participate in state and national outreach and continuing education. Participation on college and university committees is expected.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
  • DVM or equivalent degree.
  • Clinical experience and documented education and experience in medical and surgical management in equine practice with a background in clinical practice.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:
  • Board-eligible or board certification in equine surgery will receive preference.
  • Three to four years of post-graduate clinical experience, including a large animal/surgery rotating internship and/or clinical instructor experience in equine surgery in an academic setting will be considered.

  • Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items
  • Ability to view a computer terminal
