As Tube Laser Operator at Laserflex, a part of Ryerson Family of companies, you are responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of our flat laser cutting machines to produce precision metal parts according to specifications.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Set up and operate CNC Tube laser cutting machines (Trumpf)
• Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures
• Load and unload raw materials and finished product using forklifts and overhead cranes
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and job orders
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of laser equipment and designated work area
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
Requirements
  • Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Prior flat laser experience preferred
  • Basic math skills including conversions
  • Ability to adapt, multitask, and prioritize in an environment that is rapidly changing
  • Ability to have high attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding and new hire training
