Are you a skilled TRUMPF 5-axis laser operator who’s ready to bring your TruTops programming expertise to a fast-growing manufacturing team where your precision and quality truly matter?
APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Sterling Heights, MI looking to add a TRUMPF Laser Operator to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to operate and program 5-axis TRUMPF laser systems to produce high-quality, precision-cut parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What your day will look like:
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot TRUMPF 5-axis laser cutting machines to support daily production.
• Program equipment both offline and online using TruTops software.
• Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and detailed work instructions to ensure accurate fabrication.
• Adjust machine programs, tooling, and parameters to maximize cut quality and reduce cycle time.
• Perform first-article inspections and conduct ongoing in-process quality checks to verify accuracy.
• Monitor machine performance and complete routine preventative maintenance tasks.
• Partner with engineering, quality, and production teams to drive process improvements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant work area at all times.
What we are looking for:
• 3+ years of hands-on experience operating TRUMPF laser systems
• Demonstrated proficiency with 5-axis laser cutting equipment
• Strong command of TruTops for both offline and online programming
• Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T requirements
• Experience working with a variety of metals, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
• Solid mechanical aptitude with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
• Background in high-mix, low-volume, or prototype manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with automation and material handling systems
• Prior experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
