Job Description

The Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager will work as part of an Emerging Markets portfolio management team to invest client portfolios consistent with LGIMA's investment strategy views. 

Manage one or several funds in accordance with stated fund objectives and risk guidelines. Monitor investment performance and ensure that broader investment strategy is agreed in consultation with the senior management team. Conduct analysis and make investment recommendations on companies/countries in the investment universe. Maintain active and constructive engagement with the senior managers of investee companies. Leverage external experts in the analysis of fundamental change of relevant companies in the investment universe. Ensure all investment activities, actions and investment plans are implemented to meet requirements of the client

  • Portfolio Construction and Management - construct and manage portfolios in accordance with stated fund objectives and risk guidelines, subject to an agreed risk budget against the reference benchmark for the strategy, where applicable. Ongoing management of cashflows, corporate actions and index changes.
  • Research & Investment Ideas - Conduct research and analysis to generate investment ideas, working closely with research analysts and taking into account both fundamental and market technical considerations
  • Portfolio Reporting & Improvement - Assist investment specialist team in the review and production of investment reports for relevant funds, including performance, portfolio changes, key risk metrics and performance attribution for presentation both internally and to clients.
  • Internal & External Communication - Contribute to or lead internal and external marketing activities. Collaborate and share information and research within and across departments.
  • Regulation & Compliance - Maintain, operate and adhere to risk and compliance requirements set out by the business and consistent with all relevant legislation including ESG regulations
Qualifications
  • 7+ years emerging market hard currency credit portfolio management experience;
  • Experience operating as part of a portfolio management team across multiple strategies and benchmarks;
  • Strong macroeconomic and credit cycle background in Emerging markets sovereign space
  • Additional language skills from emerging markets countries would be preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyze investment recommendations made by credit analysts;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills needed for both marketing and client service responsibilities;
Additional Information

$140,000 - $200,000

The starting salary offer will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the applicant's education, job-related experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location, and market factors. This position is also eligible to participate in the company's annual discretionary bonus plan.
