Job Description

Technical/Functional Skills:

Must have at least 1 full-scale Hadoop implementation from DEV to PROD 

Must have experience in Production Deployment Process for Big Data projects 

Must have experience in root cause analysis, trouble-shooting of Hadoop applications 

Must have significant experience in designing solutions using Cloudera Hadoop 

Must have significant experience with Java MapReduce, PIG, Hive, Sqoop and Oozie 

Must have significant experience with Unix Shell Scripts 

Exposure to Healthcare Provider domain


Roles & Responsibilities:

Design solutions. Provide technical expertise in researching, designing, implementing and maintaining business application solutions. 

Mentor, guide and train Team members on Big Data 

Perform moderately to highly complex development tasks and assignments using Cloudera Hadoop. 

Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents moderately to highly complex processes, in addition to performing advanced application maintenance tasks. 

Perform complex coding tasks using Java Map Reduce, PIG, Hive and Sqoop 

Review and certify code written by team members 

Ensures that established change management and other procedures are adhered to also help developing needing standards, procedures, and practices. 

Performance tuning with large data sets.


Generic Managerial Skills:

Ability to lead the team, plan, track and manage and work performed by team members 

Ability to work independently and communicate across multiple levels (Product owners, Executive sponsors, Team members)
