Job description

Texas Hydraulics is seeking a motivated Supply Chain Intern to support our Purchasing team. This temporary opportunity provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while assisting with daily purchasing activities, supplier communications, and inventory planning.

The intern will gain practical exposure to supply chain operations, ERP systems, purchasing processes, and continuous improvement initiatives while working alongside an experienced team. This role is ideal for a student interested in pursuing a career in supply chain, operations, engineering, or business.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with creating, updating, and tracking purchase orders.
  • Follow up with suppliers regarding order confirmations, delivery dates, and past-due shipments.
  • Support daily purchasing activities to help maintain material availability for production.
  • Review planning reports and assist with updating information in the ERP system.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records, including lead times, order dates, and quantities.
  • Help resolve purchasing, receiving, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Prepare and maintain spreadsheets and reports related to purchasing, inventory, and supplier performance.
  • Organize and analyze data to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with documenting processes and evaluating opportunities to improve efficiency, including the use of emerging technology and AI tools where appropriate.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
