Buyer | Manufacturing & Semiconductor Industry

Are you a procurement professional looking to make an impact in a growing, technology-driven manufacturing environment? Our client is an award-winning manufacturer supporting the semiconductor industry, known for innovation, quality, and continued growth. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative supply chain team where you'll play a key role in ensuring materials, goods, and services are available to support production goals and customer demand.

Pay: $33-$36/hour

Duration: 6-Month Contract (with potential for long-term opportunity)

What You'll Do

  • Manage procurement activities for manufacturing operations, including materials, goods, and services
  • Create and maintain purchase orders through ERP/MRP systems (Epicor experience preferred)
  • Conduct competitive bidding and vendor negotiations to drive cost savings
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through ongoing communication and performance management
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction and process-improvement opportunities
  • Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to qualify new suppliers and products
  • Monitor inventory levels to align with forecasts and production demand
  • Analyze market trends and supply chain conditions to support purchasing decisions
  • Ensure compliance with procurement strategies and company policies
  • Support import/export activities and supplier logistics coordination
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and supplier-related issues
  • Assist with non-conformance and supplier quality processes when needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate degree and/or equivalent experience considered
  • 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience within a manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environment
  • Strong understanding of purchasing, requisitioning, and procurement processes
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems; Epicor experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to read and interpret bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, specifications, and procurement documentation
