GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Responsible for providing professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing wellness team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional IV skills, thrive in autonomous work environments, and enjoy providing personalized care. A passion for educating clients about holistic wellness, recovery, and modern wellness therapies is essential.


As an IV Hydration Nurse, you will administer intravenous (IV) fluids, vitamins, NAD+, hydration therapy, and wellness injections to clients in both clinical and mobile settings. You will be responsible for patient assessment, safe IV placement, and ensuring a comfortable, positive treatment experience.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Monitor and assess patients' vital signs during treatment.
  • Perform venipuncture and insert peripheral IV catheters.
  • Accurately document patient care and treatment details in EMR systems.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and maintain professional client relationships.
  • Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination and testing of patients, to include phlebotomy as assigned by office.
  • Observes, records and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Dispenses medication as directed. Educates patient/family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and maintenance of health and wellness.
  • Ensures appointment preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
  • Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results.
  • Responds to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Preparation of prescriptions as assigned.
  • Clerical duties may include preparation of forms, letters, etc.
  • Responsible for OSHA compliance.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Coordinates with staff in cross training. Helps in-service other staff on clinical equipment and procedures as appropriate. The jobholder must demonstrate competencies applicable to job position
Requirements:

EDUCATION:

RN degree, BSN preferred.


EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of one-year professional nursing experience, clinic experience preferred. Proficient in IV Placement, with a minimum of 1 year of daily IV insertion experience.
  • At least 3 years of RN experience preferred; strong preference for backgrounds in Emergency Department, Critical Care, or Labor & Delivery.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maintain valid RN license for the state of North Carolina.
  • Current BLS certification
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license and reliable transportation


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations and practices to give and evaluate patient care.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment.
  • Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.
  • Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions.
  • Skill in preparing/maintaining records, writing reports and responding to correspondence.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to follow protocols, and excellent multitasking skills.
  • Organized and comfortable with technology (EMR, mobile apps, digital scheduling).
  • Capable of working independently in various care settings.
  • Flexible availability for varying shifts


ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Combination of office and exam settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients. Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
