Job description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy to oversee the pharmacy department at a 60-bed hospital in Juneau, Alaska. This is a contract position starting ASAP with an expected duration of 13 weeks or longer. While the client prefers candidates open to temp-to-hire arrangements, true travelers with flexibility to relocate will also be considered.

Responsibilities include management and oversight of all pharmacy operations, including personnel supervision, compliance adherence, budget management, and purchasing activities. The Director will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and compliant function of the pharmacy department within the hospital setting.

Ideal candidates will have current experience as a hospital Director of Pharmacy, demonstrating strong leadership and operational skills. An ability to obtain an Alaska pharmacy license swiftly is essential; the license process no longer requires a law exam and typically takes about 3 to 4 weeks to complete.
