Job description

Title: Temp Machine Operator (Ink Preparation Department)
Location: Rockdale, IL (Apollo Colors)
Shift: 2nd shift, Monday-Friday, 5pm-3am
Pay: $18/hour ($.50 shift differential for 2nd shift)
Job Description: Will perform general production and/or warehouse operator functions and assigned duties. After an initial period of temporary
employment, the successful candidate will be considered for a full-time position.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Understand and follow standardized work instructions.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Blend and pack out material.
  • Ability to load, operate and offload materials for Ink Preparation into computer driven mixers
  • Complete routine paperwork.
  • Perform routine/incidental maintenance and inspections.
  • Stage product to be dried and move dry material for further processing.
  • Ensure proper identification and traceability, complete required paperwork.
  • Monitor product quality by visual inspection of the product and taking required samples and testing as necessary.
  • Perform mechanical and pre-startup inspections.
  • Able to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds.
  • Operate Power Industrial Trucks in a safe manner.
  • Comply with all company/department safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to conform to production requirements and specifications; maintain control over
    processes.
  • Attention to detail to perform error-proofing routines and identifies areas where defects
    can occur.
  • Measures output and efficiency by performance standards, cycle times, etc.
  • Housekeeping – Works to sustain a productive and safe work environment.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Previous manufacturing/production experience is REQUIRED.
  • Previous experience utilizing fork trucks in a manufacturing environment- REQUIRED.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, or pass a pre-employment screening assessment.
  • Ability to become respirator qualified in some areas/hearing protection required in
    some areas
Applicant screening includes Strength Test, Education Verification, Employment Verification, Drug Screen and Criminal Background check.
