JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Housing, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a part-time worker.
Duties include - CLEAN student housing apartments and PREPARE for occupancy by completing a detailed cleaning of all appliances, floorings, rooms, cabinets, stairwells, storage areas, windows, blinds, fans, sinks and other fixtures. SWEEP, MOP, SCRUB, CLEAN and WAX floor areas in and around University Housing. USE broom and mop; OPERATE scrubber, polisher, carpet shampooer, etc. PREPARE and PAINT walls, ceilings, inside of cabinets, drawers, shelving and vanities. CLEAN all areas within Housing including offices, laundry rooms, storage basements, play areas and trash collection points. PROVIDE custodial services for special events or tenants using the University Manor complex. MOW, RAKE, TRIM, WEED, PLANT, SEED, MULCH lawns and planting areas; OPERATE utility carts, tractors, power grounds and lawn equipment to maintain grounds and remove litter from roads, parking lots, walks, etc. MOVE furniture and equipment between various housing units; SET UP furnished housing units as per established guidelines, when necessary. ASSIST other Housing maintenance staff in the performance of other maintenance work as required. USE assorted hand tools and OPERATE power tools such as drills, saws, power augers, and pressure washers, as necessary. DISTRIBUTE and/or POST notices for tenant information. PARTICIPATE in annual inventory process. ENSURE apartment keys are delivered to and picked up from the Hospital Information Desk. KEEP records of time, as directed. REPORT any problems/issues to Housing Group Leader or assigned team leader. OTHER duties as assigned.
This position is a part-time seasonal temporary position for a maximum of 16 consecutive weeks. Working hours are: 8:00 am through 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
