Receiver– Automotive Parts
 
Location: Petersburg, VA
Pay: $17/hour
Schedule: 8AM-4:30PM
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm

Qualified Staffing is hiring a Receiver for an automotive parts and accessories warehouse in Petersburg, VA. This position is responsible for accurately receiving incoming merchandise, verifying shipments, identifying discrepancies or damage, and preparing product for proper placement within the warehouse. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
What You’ll Do
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments following established safety procedures 
  • Compare incoming merchandise against packing slips, purchase orders, and receiving documents 
  • Accurately verify part numbers, quantities, and product condition 
  • Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, overages, or incorrect items 
  • Report shipment discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor 
  • Label, sort, and stage merchandise for placement within the warehouse 
  • Complete receiving records and accurately communicate shipment information 
  • Push, pull, and maneuver put-away carts and other authorized material-handling equipment 
  • Place products in assigned warehouse locations and help maintain inventory accuracy 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area 
  • Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse projects as needed 
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Ability to accurately read part numbers, labels, shipping documents, and warehouse locations 
  • Basic math and counting skills 
  • Ability to identify damaged products and shipment discrepancies 
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team 
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality 
  • Previous warehouse, receiving, stocking, shipping, or inventory experience preferred 
  • High school diploma or GED preferred 
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout an 8–9-hour shift 
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 40 lbs. 
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions 
  • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver loaded put-away carts 
  • Good vision and manual dexterity for reading labels, verifying part numbers, counting inventory, and handling merchandise
