Job description

Forklift Operator

Compensation: $19.15 to $22.90 / hour

Overview: Under general supervision, Stand up Forklift Operator will ensure safe and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of food products utilizing equipment including, but not limited to, Raymond stand up forklifts, Raymond stand up dock loaders, and various sit down LP trucks. Must be able to work in minus 10 degrees Fahrenheit cold storage environment.

Location: Freezer Warehouse, Mount Crawford

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote safe work environment through personal actions
  • Load and unload trucks and containers using equipment provided in safe and efficient manner
  • Check and count freight for accuracy and/or damage. Take inventory as needed
  • Direct product to correct area in warehouse
  • Clear work area of loose wood and plastic, sweep area as needed
  • Report faulty equipment, damage to racks, and other safety hazards to supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prefer 1 year of Forklift experience (specific standup or sit down) in a warehouse or manufacturing environment but not mandatory. Training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with RFID
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Possession of a valid state driver's license preferred

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Self-motivator
  • Must be able to work overtime, days and/or evenings, and weekends
  • Ability to read numbers and labels
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to pay close attention to details and meet deadlines
  • Ability to safely lift up to 60 lbs. frequently
