Summary

A mid-level API / Middleware Engineer responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting integrations across enterprise systems. This role focuses on developing secure, reliable APIs and integration services, supporting production environments, and enabling seamless data flow between core business applications.


This position also contributes to automation and AI-enabled integration initiatives, including modern productivity and workflow enhancements.


Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs, webhooks, and middleware integrations
  • Support system-to-system integrations across enterprise platforms
  • Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, token-based access, service accounts)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues within production environments
  • Monitor integration performance and participate in on-call support as needed
  • Perform data mapping, transformation, and validation across systems
  • Document APIs, integration workflows, and operational runbooks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and scalable integrations
  • Contribute to automation and AI-driven integration initiatives
  • Manage and resolve integration-related tickets through IT service management (ITSM) processes


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in API development, middleware, or systems integration
  • Hands-on experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Experience supporting production systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (e.g., OAuth, tokens, service accounts)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow or similar tools)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and integration patterns (e.g., Azure or equivalent)
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java
