Job Description
Cape Fox Shared Services and Eagle Health is accepting resumes for Medical Records Clerks to work in a full-time temporary position at the National Institute of Health's Occupational Medical Services.
The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $30.45 per hour for up to 40 hours per week, which is comprised of a base hourly rate of $25.88 plus $4.57 per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations. This rate represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition, for eligible positions we offer a variety of benefits including specified holidays, paid leave, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, as well as 401K with company match. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.
Responsibilities:
  • Reviews outside medical records for completeness to include physician signature and routes record to appropriate sub-section of medical department; compiles, verifies and files medical records and complies statistics for use in reports and surveys, retrieves archived records
  • Greets OMS visitors and directs them to appropriate staff
  • Answers telephone and directs messages to appropriate staff
  • Ensures all forms are readily available and in chart for exams
  • Prepares both paper and electronic medical records for new and established patients
  • Reviews content of patient medical records, assembles into standard order and files accordingly
  • Schedules appointments using OMS computer system, reviews intake paperwork prior to arrival to ensure electronic record is created and up to date; routes walk-in and triage appointments to provider, pulls medical records in advance of appointments and updates administrative data for each OMS employee prior to their appointment
  • Print and compile records upon request of patients and/or others if release of information is signed
  • Participate in annual projection of scheduling needs to include review of periodic statistical data such as visit types and length of visit required for planning purposes
  • Assists in annual archival of medical records and physical management of filing system
  • Maintains confidentiality and protected health information according to federal regulations
  • Familiar with OSHA standards
